Berkhamsted Town Hall Wedding Photographer

Bride and groom photographer amidst the chaos of Berkhamsted high street after their wedding

It was pretty exciting to be chosen as Emma and Rafael’s Berkhamsted Town Hall wedding photographer. Mainly because their enthusiasm for their intimate Hertfordshire town hall wedding was infectious. Not only that though, this was to be my first time photographing at Berkhamsted Town Hall. Anyone who knows me, knows I love a Town Hall wedding.

Intimate Micro Wedding in Berkhamsted

Interestingly Town Hall weddings lend themselves to a smaller, intimate wedding. Many couples choose a smaller room and then head off to a local pub for their reception. This is exactly what these two wanted for their wedding day. Something cosy, laid back and authentically them. Emma and Rafael chose my Micro Wedding Package which includes three hours of coverage.

Importantly, even though the wedding photography coverage is short, it will typically include all the main events. So, the ceremony, the drinks reception, some couple shots, group shots and speeches (if you have them before your wedding breakfast) can all be photographed. As always, this will be relaxed and authentic, telling the true story of your wedding day.

Why Choose Berkhamsted Town Hall for Your Wedding?

Firstly, unlike many town hall venues, this one in Hertfordshire has a bar! This means that you and your guests can hang around after the ceremony and toast your newly wedded status. I really enjoyed capturing Emma and Rafael’s families congratulating them. Rafael’s family had arrived from Portugal for the wedding, it was quite emotional at times.

Berkhamsted Town Hall dates back to 1859 and its Gothic facade lends itself beautifully for some couple portraits. I particularly loved the big green doors, they’re great for framing. The three rooms available are full of original features, including fire places, wood panelled walls and a minstrel gallery.

Best Places For Wedding Photography in Berkhamsted Hertfordshire

Berkhamsted is an historic market town and on a Saturday the market is in full swing. Dodging the crowds is all part of the fun when wedding photographing here. Therefore embracing the market atmosphere is paramount, I’ll make it part of your vibe. Using the high street as a back drop really places you in the middle of things. We utilised the local flower shop, the pubs, and even got lucky with a Pastel de Nata stall. Given that Rafael is Portuguese this was a very happy coincidence, spotted cleverly by yours truly! We even got a box of them free.
