Hackney Town Hall Wedding Photographer
Let me start by saying that I’d be thrilled to be chosen as your Hackney Town Hall Wedding Photographer! It’s such a great venue and one of the few London Town Halls that you can choose to have your whole wedding at. The bright and newly modernised North and South Atria are glass roofed and large enough for your wedding reception. However, Lisa and Paul, featured here, chose to head to the London Christmas lights for some photos after their Hackney Town Hall wedding ceremony.

Why Choose Hackney Town Hall For Your Wedding Ceremony
Hackney Town Hall is one of London’s most impressive examples of civic art deco architecture. So, if that’s your thing, it’s worth checking out. Interestingly, whether you have just four guests or over one hundred you’ll be comfortably accommodated here. Hackney town Hall has several ceremony rooms, The Council chamber, Committee Rooms, and Lancaster Suite. You’ll have the choice of modern bright spaces or more traditional moody panelled rooms.
Lisa and Paul opted for a very small intimate ceremony. So small in fact that as their Hackney Town Hall wedding photographer I was asked to be a witness! Their ceremony was short but very sweet, heartfelt and emotional.

Highlights of a Hackney Town Hall Wedding
Hackney Town Hall is just a five minute walk from Hackney Central station, so easy to get to. In addition, should you want a reception close by, you’ll find plenty of options including pubs, dry hire venues like Hoxton Arches and quirky urban spaces like Clapton County Club. Alternatively, head to a cosy restaurant like Lisa and Paul did at The Wolseley.
A big plus for Hackney Town Hall is that it has so much space outside. So, after the ceremony, you and your guests and your Hackney Town Hall wedding photographer can spread out without the risk of being run over by a passing London bus! (Yep, it’s almost happened elsewhere, but that’s another story!)
The impressive steps are great for making your grand exit amongst a shower of confetti. (Just a side note, confetti has to be thrown at the base of the steps) Lisa and Paul chose to not have confetti, given that they had just two guests to throw it! Instead, a black cab was waiting for us to head into the streets of London for some wedding photography lit by Christmas lights.

Wedding Photography That’s Relaxed and Intimate
Lisa and Paul’s wedding photography was a real collaboration. They had very specific places that they wanted to visit, inspired by where they’d met, first dates etc. It was technically challenging in that it was dark, busy and Christmas week! Therefore it needed a little forward thinking and planning. I needed to get the lighting right, check out locations and liaise with the cabbie regarding route and parking options. Thankfully Lisa and Paul were troopers, dealing with the cold and rain and we created some amazing wedding pictures of their time lit by the Christmas lights.
