Home House Wedding Photographer Spring London wedding

It’s got to be said that I’ll always be excited to be chosen as your Home House Wedding Photographer. What a venue! They describe themselves as “Grand, Eccentric and Iconic.” That’s quite a claim, but one that they sure live up to. Spread across three imposing townhouses in London’s achingly cool Portman Square, Home House oozes a kind of inviting and warm boho charm.

Walk through the double oak doors to 18th century grandeur mixed with an air of slight mischief. This is a London wedding venue that welcomes people who know how to party!

Why Choose Home House as Your Wedding Venue?

Interestingly, Home House is licensed for your ceremony, so you can have your whole day there. Alternatively, you could choose nearby Marylebone Town Hall for your ceremony or West London Synagogue like Scott and Sara featured here.

Whether your celebrations are intimate or huge, Home House has countless options to accommodate your needs. Scott and Sara chose The Front Parlour and Eating Room for their reception and wedding breakfast, both rooms abundant with old world glamour. For smaller parties both The Octagon Room and The Asylum Room are equally decadent and full of personality. In addition to opulent Neo classical features these rooms over look the courtyard garden which is particularly pretty year round.

Great Locations for Home House Wedding Photography

Without any doubt the impressive staircase is somewhere as a Home House wedding photographer, I gravitate to. (Similarly, all couples do too!) Steeped in history, which you can read about here, this sweeping stairway is a dramatic backdrop for wedding portraits. Sara and Scott were particularly eager to have some shots taken here, which worked well as the weather plotted against us that afternoon! As a side note, the sun did actually shine for the walk to and from the synagogue which was so important to Sara. Sara really wanted to walk with her girls, good weather at this point was paramount.

Relaxed and Spontaneous Wedding Photography

Initially the plan was to walk from the synagogue to Home house, taking a moment with guests for photography in the park across the road. This is a private park with exclusive access, so perfect as a location for a Home House wedding photographer and the wedding party. However, in true British weather style the heavens opened and guests had to make a run back to cover! Typically my wedding photography style is reportage leaving me to document your day authentically, so rain is never a problem. It’s just simply part of the day.
