Islington Town Hall Wedding Photographer

I’m always going to be chuffed to be chosen as your Islington Town Hall Wedding photographer. London boasts ample town hall venues but Islington is a familiar stomping ground for me, so I get a bit warm and fuzzy hanging out there!
Islington Town Hall is located on the ever popular Upper Street and holds almost 100 years of history. You’ll have four rooms to choose from, my favourite is the featured Council Chamber. This has unusual horse shoe shaped seating which cocoons you as you take your vows and is great for photographing your guests as they watch you both. Don’t be fooled by the dark oak panelling in here, the light is amazing and allows for striking photos.
Other rooms to choose from are The Richmond Suite, Room 99 and The Mayors Parlour. All except Room 99 are oak panelled with Art Deco details. I’d suggest booking in with them quickly as they get super busy, especially during summer week ends!
Photography Outside Islington Town Hall

The steps leading up to (or from) Islington Town Hall are a pretty iconic place for a confetti shot. Make your way down the steps amid all your family and friends whoop whooping, it’s a priceless moment. Happily, there’s plenty of space here for mingling before and after the ceremony. This can be a little unusual outside London wedding venues so make the most of it! Photos here can include all the vibes of a London wedding, buses, cabs, shoppers passing by. It’s always vibrant and busy and there’s plenty of opportunity for photos before heading off to your reception.
Reception Venues Close To Islington Town Hall

The most popular choice for a reception venue after an Islington Town Hall wedding is a local pub. Thankfully there’s an abundance near by, some within walking distance. Try Coin Laundry for a laidback neighbourhood bar or The Drapers Arms which is within walking distance. Perhaps you fancy doing it yourself in a dry hire venue? Islington Metalworks and Shoreditch Studios are definitely worth a look!
If I’m your Islington Town Hall wedding photographer, I’ll be travelling with you to the reception, capturing all the fun on the way. I’m happy to walk, cab, bus even bike! I’ll just stick with you both and document the moments as they unfold.
Relaxed, Reportage Style Wedding Photography

J and D got in touch as my laid back relaxed wedding photography style was precisely what they wanted. It was important to them both that the day was spent among their guests and not pulled away for endless photos. With this considered, we decided to take a few moments as guests took their seats for dinner to steal away for a few couple shots. This way, they missed not a moment of the day. But, they got the loose and free portraits that they wanted. Typically this is how I shoot most weddings, spending the majority of my time with you documenting like a guest with a camera. To clarify, I’m approachable and friendly, but not in your face! If you’d like to learn more about my wedding photography go here. And, for more London wedding photography here’s a winter Hackney Town Hall wedding and a springtime Home House wedding.
