Pretty Lavender Milling Barn Wedding 

 As I walked into this Milling Barn wedding, the scent of lavender filled the air.  The lavender filled jars and hand tied sprigs that Jasmin had chosen were a fitting decoration. They not only smelt amazing but looked pretty exquisite too.

I found the girls getting ready amongst a clutter of make up, dresses and flowers. Photographing the wedding preparation is one of my favourite things about wedding photography. I tend to attract pretty laid back brides and Jasmin was no exception. Therefore the atmosphere was calm, the bubbly flowing!

As the boys arrived I nipped over to the barn to photograph the final prep in there. Capturing the boys trying to attach their button holes is always fun!  That is to say it’s something most men seem to find confusing. It stumps most grooms and groomsmen. Luckily I’m a dab hand at it and happy to help!

As I waited with the groom, his best man and his father, I listened to his father recollecting days gone by. Remembering his son when he was knee high, it was an emotional moment between father and son. Importantly I captured the gestures made. Subsequently, they have pictures of that moment. Resulting in something tangible to forever remember it by.

Although their day was overcast, the dark sky made for great light and drama in their photos. As a result Jasmin and Stephen have photos which truly reflect the atmosphere of their day. During the drinks reception we spent 20 minutes or so wandering around the grounds at Milling Barn capturing their first few moments together and husband and wife. I like to keep this informal and relaxed. Above all, this is your wedding day, not a photo shoot! Ultimately your enjoyment is key. Bring a glass of champagne and your elation…that’ll do for me!
