A Pretty Sheene Mill Wedding with James and Michelle.
Firstly, I have to say, poor Michelle felt awful when we first met. Just pregnant with their second child, she was in the throws of morning sickness. My sympathy was flowing! Secondly, who needs nausea when organising a wedding, looking after your toddler and working? Michelle is OFFICIALLY a trooper. Instantly, I knew we’d get on and that I had to be their Sheene Mill wedding photographer. Thankfully they felt the same and I was chosen for the day. (Cue the little happy dance!)
A Wedding with a Laid Back Vibe.
Importantly, Michelle and James wanted a wedding which was relaxed and full of family. Plans for a small and intimate day in the gardens of Sheene Mill started. As their Hertfordshire wedding photographer it was important for me to visit their venue prior to the wedding. Therefore on a sunny afternoon we hung out amongst the resident ducks and talked over their hopes for the day. Moreover I like to get a feel for a place, checking out great places for awesome wedding shots. Sheene Mill has plenty of these.
Surprise Announcements and Celebrations.
This was a quiet, gentle and charming wedding. None the less Michelle and James kept their guests on their toes. Clearly they like to drop a bombshell 🙂 Their surprise “we’re expecting baby number 2” announcement shocked and rocked the guests delightfully. As did the beautiful birthday cake they presented to Michelles brother. Yep, they got married on his birthday. Unsurprisingly this kind and thoughtful pair marked the occasion for him.

Nestled within the beautiful Cambridgeshire countryside lies the historical Sheene Mill. A sixteenth Century Mill packed full of character and charm.
Sitting alongside the trickling River Mel, Sheene Mill is a family-owned country venue. None the less, it’s exclusively yours on your wedding day. The 400-year-old flour mill will swath you in history as you take your wedding vows. Alternatively, host your celebrations outside in the wedding pavilion suspended across the River.
