I was thrilled to bits to be contacted by Jennifer and Leon to for their Shortmead House wedding photography. Having previously photographed them and their children I knew instantly that their wedding day promised to be a day to remember.
Of course, I wasn’t disappointed.
It was a dream to photograph with so much going on. Leon and the boys arrived in style, making a huge entrance in the loudest cars ever. Much to everyones delight, especially the kids. Jennifer and the girls chose a more demure approach and arrived at Shortmead House by horse and carriage. This was a surprise present to Jennifer from Leon. Importantly, there couldn’t have been a more apt way for horse loving Jennifer to arrive.

Shortmead House proved to be the perfect fit for these two and their guests. Firstly it’s both beautiful and quirky. Therefore, this place rocks a laid back relaxed vibe. Just perfect for family and friends to mingle and for the kids to let loose in true kid fashion! Secondly, there is an outdoor swimming pool, how cool is that?
Shortmead is an elegant manor house, dating back to the 16th century. Furthermore, it’s set in 24 acres of grounds which include a stunning formal garden. Alternatively, the wild lake area makes a dreamy spot for photos.

Of course, Mother Nature had to have her say…she threw everything at us. Lightning, thunder, hail storms and rain. We ran inside for shelter, and when it stopped we ran outside for photo’s.
Nothing dampened the spirits though, and eventually the sun arrived. It didn’t really matter though as smiles and laughter filled the marquee with light and warmth. Ultimately proving that the weather doesn’t really matter.
My Hertfordshire wedding photography is honest, creative and artistic. Importantly, I document your day as it unfolds naturally. Therefore manufacturing moments isn’t important to me. However, capturing real connections between yourselves and your loved ones is. My wedding photography will show the true essence of your wedding day.
