My First Wedding at Essendon Country Club.
This was to be my first wedding at Essendon Country Club. Furthermore, this was to be my first wedding shoot!
Laura called me asking if I would photograph her wedding. Previously I had photographed her two beautiful girls, so she knew my photography style. However, a wedding was going to be new to me. Added to that, Laura is quite persuasive. Needless to say, I agreed nervously.
Thankfully, we seemed to be on the same song sheet in terms of what they wanted from their wedding photography. Favouring a fly on the wall, reportage style for their day. No formal photographs, which matches my photography style completely.
Documentary wedding photography.
Initially we talked about only having the day shot in black and white. Firstly both Laura and Dan love the simplicity of it. Secondly, I love to shoot black and white too. My documentary style wedding photography captures true and honest moments. Above all I’m searching for emotion and connections. Subsequently, black and white helps focus the eye on this.
However, as Laura decided on the days style and colours it became clear that I would just have to include the colours too. To clarify, delicate and beautiful tonal pastels took centre stage. Both feminine and tasteful. Importantly, these had to be documented to show the true story of the day.
Why Choose an Essendon Country Club Wedding?
Each wedding is treated individually. Therefore every couple is assigned their own wedding manager to help plan the perfect day. Moreover, the team are with you every step of the way, up to and including the day.
The oak framed 16th century Grand Barn will host your ceremony. The pretty but atmospheric mezzanine level is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships.
Furthermore, as the day goes on spread into the sunny terrace. Embraced by 400 acres of Hertfordshire countryside, the views are spectacular.
A Truly Romantic Wedding Day
This Essendon Country Club wedding was THE most beautiful wedding ever!
Simply not just because it looked so pretty, although it did! But because of the people and the love. Laura and Dan have known each other since they were kids and their parents were friends before that. Frankly, it’s such a romantic story and I love it!
Warmth from their friends and family filled the venue and made the atmosphere so perfect. Similarly, little girls ran around with their dresses billowing in the breeze and the little boys threw pine cones into the lake. (Some of the “big boys” did that too, although I’m not sure they were supposed to!!!) I feel completely honoured to have been part of their day. A day which will always warm my heart and make me happy.
There was laughter, there were tears, but above all …LOVE. Here are just a few pictures of their amazing day.
