Coltsfoot Farm Wedding  Hertfordshire Wedding Photographer

When planning their Coltsfoot Farm wedding, Helen and Stuart had no idea that another rather well known couple would choose the same day as they did. Neither did they imagine that the FA cup final would clash too!

Still, Harry and Meghan and the football did nothing to over shadow their Coltsfoot wedding.

The morning broke brightly, promising perfect wedding weather. As their Hertfordshire wedding photographer I made my way to the barbers to capture the boys’ preparations before breakfast. It was an early, excited start all around.

The boys chose Magic Scissors in Welwyn Garden for their grooming. I’m assured that they give a wicked wet shave and I can tell you that boys wedding preparations are alot quicker and cheaper than the girls!

Afterwards I headed over to Tewinbury Farm, another beautiful Hertfordshire wedding venue situated close to Coltsfoot Farm. The girls stayed here the night before the wedding and played host to early the bridal preparations, just after breakfast.

I love this time on a wedding morning. The air is always filled with anticipation, excitement and a few nerves thrown in for good measure. Helen chose her regular hairdresser to come and style the bridal party and make up was beautifully executed by Lisa Attridge at Final Touches make up.

Following on from wet shaves and a builders brekkie, the boys made their way to Coltsfoot Farm Country Retreat to get into their wedding finery and final outfit tweaks. The usual confusion followed as they attempted to arrange button holes and ties. Becoming an expert in helping with these jobs is just a by product of being a Hertfordshire wedding photographer! Trust me, I’ve done a few in my time!

The Coltsfoot Wedding Ceremony.

Nervously Helen walked down the aisle flanked by her incredibly proud brother. Stuart waited for his bride to come into view, clearly overcome by emotion and excitement.

Coltsfoot Farm weddings take place in the stunning hallway of the barns where you are surrounded by family and friends. It’s personal and unpretentious and brimming full with character. The perfect choice for any relaxed wedding.

To say that these two were happy to be getting married would be a huge under statement. Similarly I was chuffed to bits to be their Hertfordshire wedding photographer.

Keeping their wedding small and intimate was important to both Helen and Stuart, so it was family and close friends who watched them tie the knot. Later on in the day a few more guests arrived to help celebrate their Hertfordshire wedding well into the night.

Cocktail Hour and Photo Time.

After greeting their guests and grabbing a glass of bubbly we headed off to take a few relaxed photos. Family is key to Helen and Stuart so of course this was reflected in their group shots. I hate to pose people and prefer everyone just to melt into place. With a tiny bit of gentle direction and a glass of something drunk you can see that they nailed this perfectly!

I love the simplicity of the navy blue bridesmaid dresses with the pop of red/pink in the bouquets. It’s so classy!

Now, no wedding full of football fans is going to pass by without a nod to the FA cup when it’s being played during your wedding breakfast. Suffice to say it was viewed on various devices. I guess you just have to embrace it. (I think their team lost.)

Luckily though the best mans speech was cracking and laughter ensued in copious amounts.

The Evening Shenanigans.

Coltsfoot Farm weddings take on a different vibe in the evenings. Summer brings hazy sun sets seen across the rolling countryside. Winter brings candle light and cosy.

After feeding the llamas  (yes, they have llamas!) the music started up and so to the dancing.

Capturing all the crazy evening moments is always great fun and brings your wedding photography story to a natural end.

I leave feeling warm and fuzzy, happy to have witnessed all the magical moments between loved ones, the music fading into the back ground.

What a great job I have!

Shortly after Helen and Stuart viewed their Coltsfoot wedding photography gallery they sent me this review…

“Denise was the photographer for our recent wedding. From the very beginning Denise took the time to get to know us and listened, really listened, to every detail of everything that was important to us. On the day she had a natural and warm way of putting people at ease when needed. Furthermore she blended in and captured literally all of the special moments. It just worked so well (and she worked so hard!).  Combined with obvious technical skills and creative talent has resulted in a gallery of photos that we are thrilled with. They really do document the day.  The nerves before, the emotion of the ceremony, the happiness and fun of what was for us a perfect day. Now we have the perfect photo collection too. We very highly recommend Denise for anyone choosing a photographer. Thank you Denise. Helen and Stuart xxx”
